  5. wow, i hadn’t heard of meet me in mumbai and it seems like a fantastic story!!! i will have to put it on my to-check-out list hahah. i think my most anticipated release for the second half of the year is dark room etiquette by robin roe. i loved the author’s debut and even though this book is very likely to be triggering AF, i still want to read it very badly lol. why do i do this to myself is a mystery. i am also obviously very hyped for love from mecca to medina. kinda obsessed with S.K ali randomly giving sequel to all her contemporaries hahah it’s what we deserve!!!

    1. Meet Me in Mumbai sounds really good. I love family focus in ya contemporaries and this one already promises complex relationships. Plus it is always nice to read books set outside the US, which this one is partly! 🤩
Dark Room Etiquette sounds dark, even by ya mystery standards, but that synopsis certainly leaves you wanting to know more! It will also be interesting to see how it manages be written with the focus on one person in one setting! There is a lot of potential and intrigue for sure. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it and hope it ends up being a success. Thank you for telling me about it 🥰
I love Zayneb and Adam so I am excited too! Haha I know, like it is a couple years later but here you go 😂 it’s great, the only question remains is if they will become trilogies?! 🤣🤣
Thank you for stopping by Lais ❤️❤️

  6. Wow firstly how didn’t I realise Foul Lady Fortune was linked to There Violent Delights 🙈🙈 guess I better try & get to that series first 😂 I’m majorly excited for Violet Made Of Thorns…I so hope it lives up to my expectations as it gives me Cruel Prince vibes. Not Good For Maidens is majorly high priority on my tbr too. So many of these are books I literally can’t wait for though. They sound fantastic. Plus some of them have such stunning covers 😍
I hadn’t heard of a couple of these but they’re going on my list 😅 and I look forward to seeing what you think of all these, especially your most anticipated. I really hope they all live up to your expectations.

Here are a couple of other YA (I think) recommendations, I’ve stuck to the ones I thought were less well known.

    Beguiled by Cyla Panin
    Luminaries by Susan Dennard
Daughter Of Darkness by Katharine & Elizabeth Corr

    1. I believe Foul Lady Fortune is following one of the side characters from TVD, so it probably is alright to read as separate series! But TVD was great so it is a good idea to read that duology first! 😉
oohh I hope Violet Made Of Thorns lives up to TCP expectations– i know it is has big boots to fill after you love that series!
Not Good for Maidens has had great reviews so far, I hope you have another positive review for it!
The covers somehow seem to get better every year 😍😍
I’m glad you discovered some new ones! Yayy, I hope I will love them too. I sincerely hope you enjoy all your anticipated ones too! 🥰

Beguiled does sound really different and definitely a fun retelling vibe. I hope it has a lush writing style.
The Luminaries promises an interesting world and relationship. Quite a popular YA author, I would why it has been on the down low.
Daughter of Darkness is another fascinating retelling. Thank youuu for telling me these– it was great to find out about them! 💜

      1. I always try to read connected series in release date order to avoid any minor spoilers anyway. But I have heard a lot of amazing things about These Violent Delights. Glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah I’m very excited & nervous for it. Fingers crossed though!!
Ooh I hadn’t seen any but that’s wonderful!!
They do 😍😍 no idea how its possible tbh.
Thank you 💗💗 let’s hope we both do.

I’ve got the author’s debut so I’ll let you know what I think of it when I get to it.
Idk I was surprised when I stumbled across it tbh as you’d have thought it was the sort to get screamed about.
Ooh I do know two other – I think adult – Greek retellings out later this year if you’re interested.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Yeah, that makes sense and I’m probably the same as well. Hope you enjoy TVD anyway 🥰
          Fingers crossed indeed!!
          I know!!
          💗❤️

          Oohh nice thank you 🥰
definitely but I guess she is not as big as other authors 🤔
Oohh I’d love to know those Greek retllings if it is no bother… I know of Stone Blind, idk if that’s was on your list 💚💚

          1. Firstly sorry for all the ridiculously late replies ❤️❤️

            Thank you (: fingers crossed.

I guess although her Truthwitch series is pretty popular I thought. Never see much about her debut one though.
It’s been so long I can’t remember which I was thinking of 🙈 could well be that for one of them. I know that Ithaca by Claire North is one I was interested in too so I’d imagined that’s it. I’m looking at my list a bit later though so I’ll see if I spot any others & let you know on Insta 💗💗

            Liked by 1 person

            1. No need to be sorry, whenever is best for you is best for me too ❤️❤️
True, Truthwitch is popular. I didn’t realise it was only published in 2017 tho, I thought it was 2012-era 😅
No idea of her debut either.
Oh yes I have seen the cover for Ithaca, looks beautiful 😍 aw.. Thank you 🥺💗

              Liked by 1 person

              1. Aww thank you so much ❤️❤️
Oh lol her debut series is slightly older so maybe that ones from then? Anyway I’ve now seen that her latest has a special edition paperback at Waterstones 😍
Greek retellings do tend to get stunning covers 😍

                Liked by 1 person

                  1. It’s stunning 😍😍 I love the new trend of continuing the cover design on the edges. Ooh didn’t know about the reviews. Fingers crossed for double points so I have an excuse to treat myself 😂
