My Response to the Me and Music Tag

Hello, my pretty shining people

Although Sophie is on a hiatus at the mo I was tagged to do this post about 2 months ago, so in a timely fashion, I have now ransacked my Spotify playlists to produce this beauty. Happy reading, happy listening.

THE RULES

RULE N°1: Tag the creator (Sophie @ Me & Ink) so anyone can find their way to the full lists of prompts/graphics

RULE N°2: Choose how many prompts you want to do (up to 17). Free feel to use (or not use) the headings or the graphics (either old or new versions).

RULE N°3: Name 1-5 songs per prompt and have fun!

We Will Rock You- Queen. Because I remember my dad first playing this song to me and my sister Sophie on vinyl in our living room. Doesn’t get home-ier than that.

wp-1582798603015.png

Ah where to begin. Musicians love to sing about love, but then, what else is there? Really?

Love of My Life- Queen. This song takes itself seriously but finding the love of your life is no laughing matter.

Say You Love Me- Fleetwood Mac. I have a love affair with Fleetwood Mac so I could actually include all their songs here, but for the sake of your sanity, let’s not.

Power & Break Up Song- Little Mix

Little Mix are my JAM! I love a good shimmy but these are my most powerful bops.

wp-1582798602969.png

Welcome to the 60’s- Hairspray. I have seen Hairspray at the theatre and it was fabulous.

Always Remember us this Way- Lady Gaga

This is Me- Greatest Showman. Obviously. Though I do love the whole album.

wp-1582798602949.png

(Is it cheating to say the Rain Sounds Playlist on Spotify?)

If yes, then alternatively July- Austin Myles Grant.

wp-1582798602925.png

Mambo No.5 (a Little Bit of….)- Lou Bega. I remember dancing to this song in a Cinderella dress and twirling around until I felt sincerely sick. Oh to be 13 years old.

In My Car (I’ll Be The Driver)- Shania Twain. A classic from my childhood, me and my sister used to sing this- and still would if it came on the radio (which it wouldn’t because this song is too old, and too yee-haw for Heart Radio)

wp-1582798602851.png

IDGAF- Dua Lipa. This song is attitude.

Wake up Boo!- The Boo Radleys. This song is sunshine.

wp-1582798602701.png

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun- Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi knew what she was talking about all those years ago. We all just wanna have fun.

Best of my Love- The Emotions. The catchiest, grooviest, most wonderful song.

If Not For You- George Harrison. A golden Beatle.

Wonderful Tonight- Eric Clapton. An old song now but luckily it’s timeless.

wp-1582798602803.png

Forever Young- Alphaville. Tears.

Father and Son – Yusuf/Cat Stevens. More tears.

Landslide- Fleetwood Mac. Tears everywhere.

wp-1582798602771.png

Time After Time – Cyndi Lauper. Heard this song in the movie ‘Military Wives’ and haven’t stopped singing it since. It’s been months. It may never cease.

No Judgement – Niall Horan. ‘bare foot and a bottle of wine’~ this song knows me.

The Axis of Awesome- 4 Chords. A lot of songs use the same 4 chords, these folks put them all in one absolute banger.

wp-1582798602747.png

Love in the dark- Adele. ‘don’t try to change my mind, I’m being cruel to be kind’

Lover (Remix) [feat. Shawn Mendes]- Taylor Swift. ‘I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, but I want ’em all’

Falling- Harry Styles. ‘and I’m well aware I write too many songs about you’

wp-1582798602681.png

Someone you Loved- Lewis Capaldi.

Don’t Start Now- Dua Lipa.

wp-1582798602644.png

Angels- Robbie Williams. This was always the last song that played at my student night out at university, SO many memories of being sad the night was finishing but glad I was about to get loads of greasy carbs.

Go Your Own Way- Fleetwood Mac. My first solo drive in my new car was to IKEA to pick up some furniture. I listened to my new Fleetwood Mac album and this song came on whilst I took a wrong turn and got lost. Rather apt don’t you think.

(I Just) Died in Your Arms- Cutting Crew. Sophie sings this song all the time at home, when I think of it I always smile.

wp-1582798602662.png

Holes- Passenger. Catchy.

Dreams- Fleetwood Mac. Dreamy.

Bohemian Rhapsody- Queen. MAMAAAAAAAAAAA.

wp-1582798602620.png

Daddy lessons- Beyonce. Besides your bread and butter ‘single ladies’ I never really listened to much Queen B but then this song came on BBC Radio 2 -of all places- and I loved it.

Blue Wonderful- Elton John. I am a huge, huge, huge fan of Elton John. However, I never listened to his most recent material for fear of it not matching up to his olden goldies. But then I discovered the song Blue Wonderful and all that changed. The end.

*ALL FLEETWOOD MAC ALBUMS PLEASE*

wp-1585567072877.png

You belong with me- Taylor Swift. After watching this music video I decided to steal this storyline and pass it off to Sophie as my own made-up idea, it was a peculiar time and she hasn’t trusted me since.

So, this has been a little taste of some of my music loves. I can only apologize for the amount of Fleetwood Mac that Sophie correctly predicted would be a main feature.

Thank you for reading and may music always bring you comfort and clarity.

  1. Fleetwood Mac fan for life !! “Got to go your own way” definitely very poetic !!
Look I don’t sing the whole song all the time, just those two lines “I… I just died in your arms tonight, it must have been something you said” they are good lines to sing !!
I remember that about ‘we will rock you’ too, although I definitely thought it was about rocking a child to sleep at the time !!
Thank you for doing this tag!! It was fun to read your response !! 💕
Also bless you, *you just sneezed* 😉

    1. You said it gurl 😂
They are the best lines to sing and I love it, it’s been a while though 🤔
Ha! I remember that! I’m sure they secretly did write it about getting children a good nights sleep 😎
Thank you for tagging me ❤
      LOL 😂😂🤧 thanks darling

  2. Great choices! I’m a massive Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks fan too. My favorite songs are Gypsy, Landslide, and Dreams but my favorite line is from Rhiannon, “She is like a cat in the dark and then she is the darkness” it’s just very dramatic and very me lol. I also love that line from Falling by Harry Styles too!

  3. I like Fleetwood Mac as well (: I can’t imagine I know their music as well as you do but I do love some of the songs (and probably would find out that I liked even more of them if I tried listening to an actual album 😂) and Queen you mentioned them a lot too and I adore them 😍 I always knew I loved a handful of their songs but since Bohemian Rhapsody I’ve been obsessed!! Same with Elton John and the Rocketman movie. I knew I liked a few of his songs but it turns out there are more than I realized.
Mambo No. 5 reminds me of my childhood too although there was no Cinderella dress involved 😅 it used to get played on the karaoke machine a lot though. I had a Shania Twain CD but the song that me and my sister couldn’t help but love was Ka-Ching.
The Greatest Showman soundtrack is amazing 😍 and I loved the Military Wives movie. I actually saw it twice 😂 although to be fair my Godmother wanted someone to see it with so me and my mum went for a second time. I have an unlimited card so it makes sense to see films more than once if I love them since I pay monthly rather than per film.

  4. It seems we have a lot in common in both music and film tastes! I too adored Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman – Shania’s Ka-Ching is another golden one, really fancy listening to it now 😂
Oh my goodness I have an Unlimited Card too!! They’re amazing and I totally see films multiple times too 😊
    Thanks for reading Charlotte 🥰

    1. Yes they are such wonderful films 💞 if I do I’ll probably end up accidentally singing it all evening 😅 ooh yay they are wonderful aren’t they? I’ve seen several films that I probably wouldn’t have without it. I’m really missing using it right now.

  5. So many great songs! Also, Ioved that you mentioned Little Mix. They have so many jams but for some reason I don’t see many people talking about their songs??
