*I have decided to split them into two posts. You can check the first one out, The Sunshine Blogger Award Part 1 | naming pets, co-writing and bookish creatures.

LAUREN’S QUESTIONS

The first set of questions is from Lauren @ Twenty Seven Letters who very kindly nominated me for this award which means a lot so thank you. And of course, I think you should be following her as well because her blog is wonderful.

wp-1599692036426.png

WHAT’S THE LAST BOOK YOU READ THAT ABSOLUTELY STOLE YOUR HEART?

45998898

Well I just read The Starless Sea by Erin Morgernstern and it was wonderful. I adored the magic and it involved books which of course stole my heart immediately. Plus it had a whimsical mystery, lyrical writing and wonderful characters so yes, yes, YES.

wp-1599692036440.png

IF YOU HAD TO DESCRIBE YOURSELF AND YOUR PERSONALITY BY ONLY LISTING THREE DIFFERENT FICTIONAL CHARACTERS, WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?

Cress. She is one of the few characters I’ve read who felt fully comfortable being an introvert and wanting someone to save her. She was strong but none of the qualities had to be taken away from that so I related to that.

13206828. sy475

Adam. Because he is defensive and stubborn which I can be both. But more importantly because of his growth and I think I have grown over time to become a better person. It isn’t the most perfect comparison but I like it, okay.

17675462. sy475

Hermione. She looks for answers in book and is very determined. Plus she likes to follow the rules and typically be ‘good’ which is very me. So I like to think I channel a bit of Hermione in me too.

wp-1599692036426.png

WHAT IS ONE FICTIONAL FOOD THAT YOU ARE JUST DYING TO TRY?

It’s food. Let’s be honest I’m dying to try all of it!!

31114367. sx318

But the descriptions of some of the food in The Night Circus were insane like the sugar globes which were all a different flavour and the dessert on the anniversary meal!! It was SO magical and whimsical, I need to try it ALL.

wp-1599692036440.png

YOU CAN INVITE THREE FICTIONAL VILLAINS TO A DINNER PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING AND WHAT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?

Yes, now this is a dinner party I like the sound of. It better be in a Gothic mansion surrounded by wild moors or else I’m not going!!

Tom Riddle (from Harry Potter) because his Hogwarts days were his pinnacle and I would love to see how he would interact with a crowd. I would be so curious to see it.

21523103

Kavinsky (from The Raven Cycle. Is he a villain? I don’t really think so but I want to include him). Kavinsky was a really complex character and I just want to see more from him.

17347389

And The Commandant (from An Ember in the Ashes) is a really dark, smart villain. Plus she is used to holding a lot of power so seeing her in this setting would be really interesting.

Topic of discussion: what they do to relax and the quickest way to convince someone to do something they don’t want to.

wp-1599692036426.png

WHERE IS YOUR PREFERRED READING SPOT, AND WHY IS IT YOUR FAVOURITE?

My bed. I do most of my reading before I go to sleep so reading in bed is ideal. It is so comfy and a great place to get lost in a book.

wp-1599692036440.png

OUT OF ALL OF THE BOOKS YOU’VE EVER READ, WHICH HAD THE MOST SATISFYING ENDING? NO SPOILERS!

Ohh.. this is a hard question ya know!! (because it turns out I haven’t read that many endings- oops). Maybe Kingdom of Ash as I was satisfied with where all the characters ended up and how the events unfolded.

HOW DO YOU USUALLY WRITE BLOG POSTS? DO YOU TAKE NOTES BEFOREHAND? MAKE AN OUTLINE? DO YOU WRITE IT ALL AT ONCE THEN POST IT? DO YOU SCHEDULE YOUR POSTS?

I probably have a few different ways but generally…

  1. I have the ‘idea’
  2. I fit it into my plan which is usually 4 months ahead or I will list it for the future
  3. I start writing it, and most of the time I will keep coming back to finish it. (I don’t really plan it out except in my head but I will write my headings first for a sense of structure. Occasionally I have notes on my phone from when I was bored and started making notes)
  4. I edit it, probably more quickly than I should.
  5. I schedule it. Hopefully a month in advance but sometimes it is a week or panic done the same day (this is very true as of late)

CHARLOTTE’S QUESTIONS

Thank you so much to Charlotte @ Bewitching Books, Ravenous Reads for the nomination. You have always been so nice to me and you are so generous with your support so thank you. Please follow her blog.

ARE THERE ANY 2020 RELEASES THAT YOU’RE ALREADY EXCITED FOR? IF SO WHICH ONES?

Yes there are many!! I did a full post here

But some main ones are We Free The Stars by Hafsah Faizal, Dreamer #2 by Maggie Stiefvater, A Neon Darkness by Lauren Shippen and Darius the Great Deserves Better by Adib Khorram. I’m mostly focusing on sequels this year.

Also When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey and Late to The Party by Kelly Quindlen.

wp-1599692036426.png

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK TO TV ADAPTATION?

Can I say a book that I haven’t read (??) because in that case I love ‘The 100’ TV show. There is so much drama and emotion. I feel like it is one of the shows where the characters don’t feel safe AT ALL. Also, they are all morally grey which I adore and adds to the complexity.

Also, it had one of the best last lines EVER and I respect that.

wp-1599692036440.png

IF YOU COULD STEP INTO THE WORLD OF ANY BOOK WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE?

34879260. sy475

The Warcross world (by Marie Lu) because I can have my normal life and don’t have to worry about the world being destroyed but I can also have this really cool world to step into through this elaborate and creative interactive game.

wp-1599692036426.png

WHAT AUTHOR WOULD YOU LOVE TO SEE MORE BOOKS FROM?

37506437

Adib Khorram as he is a talented author so I can’t wait to see what he will do next. I think his writing captured a lot of emotion and felt very genuine so I look forward to read more from him.

wp-1599692036440.png

DO YOU PREFER ENEMIES TO LOVERS OR FRIENDS TO LOVERS ROMANCES IN BOOKS?

This is a hard question *cries* but at the precise moment I would pick enemies to lovers but I have a very specific version for it and I could probably write an essay about it. But I love the angst and the journey of understanding each other.

wp-1599692036426.png

IF YOU COULD PICK ANY BOOK TO BE TURNED INTO A MUSICAL, WHICH WOULD IT BE?

I think ‘The Infinite Noise’ would be cool as a musical because it is about feelings and thoughts so music can really reflect the internal feelings well. Also, there are songs for the podcast so it kind of is a musical already. Or ‘The Book Thief’ would work as a musical quite well I think. Imagine Death singing?!?!

                                       4326323925739188

wp-1599692036440.png

WHAT SUPERNATURAL CREATURE DO YOU THINK WE NEED TO SEE MORE OF IN FICTION?

There are probably so many supernatural creatures that I don’t know about as I don’t read that many supernatural books. So I probably don’t know how uncommon these are but Hell Hounds. They guard the entrance to the world of the dead, hunt lost souls or guard treasures which I think sounds PRETTY cool and you could do something imaginative with them.

wp-1599692036426.png

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE TIME OF DAY?

Bed time!! lol.

wp-1599692036440.png

WHAT TWO AUTHORS DO YOU THINK WOULD WRITE AN AMAZING BOOK TOGETHER?

Maybe Jennifer Donnelly and Patrick Ness because Donnelly does characters like ‘Fate’, ‘Chance’, ‘Love’ and ‘Death’ so I think it would be so cool to see these two authors explore concepts like that. I picked Patrick Ness because he has some really unique ideas and he is a talented writer.

wp-1599692036426.png

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF READING AND BLOGGING?

Walking (does that count?) like walking my dog, not just walking to the fridge. I also like to draw and write too.

wp-1599692036440.png

IF YOU COULD GET EVERYBODY TO READ ONE BOOK WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

The one I’m writing because it would be a lot easier to get it published.

Joking. I really couldn’t let people read that.

I think Radio Silence by Alice Oseman and Darius The Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram because they are so well written and have beautiful characters so I think loads of people would love them. Plus they talk about really important things.

Who would you invite to your villain’s dinner party?
What book do you think would make a great musical?

  1. Thank you so much for the nomination! It’s really fun reading through all your answers, so I’m super excited to go through your questions! I’m thinking hard about some of them already 🤔

I think Red, White & Royal Blue would make a brilliant musical! I can totally imagine all the longing love ballads, cheesy songs, and funny numbers from Alex and Henry’s family members! (Okay I love this idea now, somebody make it happen!!) 😄

    1. Of course, You’re welcome!! 💛 yay thank you!! And ahh… I looking forward to hearing your answers then! 💕

Oh my gosh!! I love that idea. Red, White and Royal Blue would work really well as a musical. It would be so happy and full of personality. I love it. Yep someone definitely needs to do that!!

  2. With the villains you’re inviting, it sounds like a very deadly dinner party. I’m scared for you. 😬 Don’t get murdered!

I’m excited for We Free the Stars, too! And also a good bit scared. The cover is so pretty!

I love your questions so much. They’re really original.

    1. It does sound like a dangerous dinner party 😂 I will have to invite a really strong hero as well!! And thank you I hope I don’t get murdered too 😉

Yay!! Yeah I get the nerves too but hopefully all the characters will be okay. I feel like the plot will be SO good though 😍 the cover is stunning!!

Thank you 💛 I tried to come up with unique questions and it was like 1am when I came up with them so I was slightly delirious too 😂

  3. Oh my goodness, I can relate with you SO much with describing yourself using three fictional characters; I’m really similar to Cress, Adam and Hermione as well!!! 😀

And your blog post writing steps are pretty similar to mine, except sometimes I get into blogging slumps and procrastinate. 🙈 Ahhh, choosing enemies vs friends to lovers is so hard, but for me, there’s something really special about having best friends become lovers because it’s so flail-worthy, lol! Still, enemies to lover is AMAZING.

Again, I loved reading your Sunshine Blogger Award posts, you totally deserve your five nominations! I am really, really honored to be a part of nominations!!! *sobs* It really means a lot, and I cannot wait to answer your questions! ❤

    1. Yay we must be similar too 😍 but they are all reserved (in a way) and work hard so I related to them in my own way!! *high five* though 😊

Yay but I know what you mean about blogging slumps though as sometimes I lack the energy to do it all!!

It is a really hard decisions between friends/enemies to lovers as I love aspects of both. But friends to lovers is full of so many sweet moments so I can’t argue with you there!!

Aww… Thank you so much Ash *cries* 😭💕 you’re TOO kind! I’m so happy you liked reading my answers though 💛
Aw.. You’re so welcome. You deserve it!! And I look forward to seeing your answers 😊💕

  4. These posts have been such fun to read, you definitely deserve all these nominations!

YESS TO THE 100 I LOVE THE SHOW SO MUCH! It is so so different from the books though. I think the 100 is one instance where I don’t like the books as much as the TV adaptation or movie.

If you ever do find those sugar globes please tell me ASAP! I need them!

    – Emma 🙂

    1. Aww.. thank you so much Emma 😭💕 I’m so happy you enjoyed reading these posts as well !! 💛

Yessss the 100 is amazing and so intense. I love it. I’ve never read the books but I looked into them and they did seem really different. They even had another main character which was weird. But I love the show so I’m happy!! I’m glad you love it too!!

Haha yes I will tell you if I ever find the sugar globes 😂

  5. I’m SO HAPPY to hear that you loved The Starless Sea!! 😀 Also, I love to see how people describe themselves using fictional characters. I think Cress, Adam, and Hermione are an awesome combination!

I am SCREAMING at the idea of a musical of The Infinite Noise/The Bright Sessions. I mean, the musical episode was incredible itself, and a full-length musical like that would be the best thing ever. And a Book Thief musical would be SO COOL! I’m just imagining it as super dark and atmospheric and incredible. Now I want all my favorite books to be adapted into musicals.

Thank you so much for nominating me! ❤ I'm so excited to answer your questions. Not to spoil my answers, but I LOVE Orla Gartland (I was literally listening to one of her songs when I started reading this post) and I'm obsessed with that video 😱

    1. The Starless Sea was wonderful!! 😍😍 I like seeing people describe themselves in fictional characters as well!! Thank you (I definitely tried to pick some of my favourite characters as well though 😂)

I know I love the musical episode and it felt like a proper musical. It was wonderful 😍 so the idea of it on stage– YES please!!
Yes that is what I was thinking a really dark and atmospheric production for The Book Thief. I would love it!!
Same I thought it would be hard to answer but so many books would make incredible musical and I need it !! 😂😍

Of course, you’re so welcome 💛💛 I look forward to seeing your answers!!
Yay this was my excuse to talk to more people about Orla but her voice and lyrics. Wow!! The video is amazing and so emotional. I can’t believe you were listening to her (that’s amazing)

  7. YAY SOPHIE! I totally agree about Kingdom of Ash- after all that long series, the ending was SO satisfying (but the thirteen ahhhhh !!!*aditi dies again*)
HARRY POTTER YAS (shame on JKR tho 😑).
Also, aha, thank you for NOT nominating me lol. I have like a billion tags and awards that I need to do and oop- 😂

    1. Yes I liked the ending and like you said after all those books we needed a satisfying end 😂 but yes the emotions 😭 I still can’t get over it!!

I know I’m so disappointed in JKR!! Emma Watson wrote the books now!!

Haha you’re welcome. I remember you saying you had lots of tags to do at one point so I didn’t tag you (obviously I think you deserve it). It takes me ages to do tags too 🙈

  8. okay, can i just say that the cover for “the starless sea” just took my breath away?? eek, i love it! i am yet to read a book by erin morgernstern, but after your description and the reviews of “a night circus” (and MOUTH-WATERING food descriptions i must- her writing seems totally magical (now i’m gonna have high expectations for her, haha) also, yay for being an introvert! *high-five* i haven’t read the lunar chronicles but i love that cress being an introvert still meant that she was a strong character!

eek, now i really want to visit that gothic mansion *swoons* i can just imagine a plethora of dark roses surrounding it!! seeing riddle and the commandment get along is sooo dangerous- who knows what diabolical plan they’ll come up with? i feel like the commandment would force riddle to become voldemort much sooner and be more ruthless- nonetheless, combine their evil genius and they *may* just take over the world.

i think i would pick the enemies vs. lovers trope too! the process would be super intense- you have to learn to trust an enemy and gah, there’s so much potential!

p.s. the idea of hell hounds is AWESOME.
p.p.s. i just listened to “inevitable” and the emotions it conjured up were ineffable and wonderful and i may or may not have actually cried while watching the music video ❤

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I know that cover for the Starless Sea is *chefs kiss* I think that is the Waterstones exclusive so I don’t have it but I love to admire it! 😍
Erin Morgernstern’s writing is insane, it is unique and not for everyone though. It is lyrical and I loved sinking into it. I preferred The Starless Sea over The Night Circus though but the food and the magic were awesome!!
Haha very high expectations!! 😂 I hope she lives up to them for you!!
Yay introverts *high fives*! I think Cress is one of my favourite introverted character as it was a strength and she didn’t have to change. I loved her!!
I know. Gimme all the gothic mansions 😍 and DARK ROSES!! Yes please!!
I know the riddle and the Commandant would be a dangerous pair indeed!! So true, riddle never really had a dark mentor leading him so imagine if he did and someone like the commandant as well. It was be very dangerous and I could definitely see them winning!! *hides*
I know enemies to lovers is always a slow burn and it is about bringing out different sides to each other and I can just get way too invested!! 😂
I know hell hounds sounds cool !!
Oh wow it made you cry 😭 it is really emotional and Wow!! The video is very powerful!!

  10. Thank you a bunch for nominating me! 💕 Cress, Adam and Hermione are such a good combo, I’m happy you related to them in some ways. Cress is my favorite, and I 1000% with what you wrote about her. 🙂 I’ve recently read Darius the Great Is Not Okay, and I loved it!! Such a good book, so I definitely understand why it appears multiple times in your post. 🙂

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Of course, you’re welcome 💕 you deserve it!!
Yeah I love all those characters which probably influence my answer but I relate to them all !! Yes Cress is wonderul and I loved how she never had to change!! 😊

Yes Darius is a wonderful book 😍 I’m glad you loved it too!! 💛

  11. Thank you so much for nominating me 🥰 I also relate to Cress and Hermione a lot, the latter was one of the first characters I truly related to 😊 Not sure if I’d want to have a villain’s dinner (sounds kind of dangerous) and if inviting Victor Vale from Vicious would be a good idea 😂

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Of course 💕💕 yes Cress and Hermione are really relatable!! I agree she was such an iconic character for so many people! 😊
Haha I know it does seem very dangerous!! Oohhh.. Victor would be an interesting one though 😂

  12. Omg yay you got nominated give times. That’s amazing!! But so, so well deserved ❤️
I’ve been looking forward to seeing some answers to Lauren’s dinner party question and I love yours. I still need to read about some of them but I love villains and the ones that I haven’t are already on my TBR. I love Cress too (I think hers was my favourite TLC books although Scarlet is a close second) and I can relate to Hermione a lot too. I also really hope to reorder The Starless Sea into the library again soon too. I’m just waiting until I’ve read a few books first as I don’t want to fail to read it yet again.
I hope you love all of the 2020 releases that you mentioned ❤️ and the 100 still counts (: tbh I actually preferred the TV series anyway. Idk if maybe part of it was due to seeing the show first as my favourite of the books was the last one which was pretty different from the show. Ooh the world that you’ve picked and reasons for it is wonderful. I’m definitely going to have to read Darius The Great at some point & I love the writing pair that you picked. I definitely want to read more by Jennifer Donnelly (I’m thinking of starting with her Tea Rose series next) and Patrick’s Ness books always sound fabulous. Ooh I love your musical suggestions. I know I’ve only read the blurb of it so far but a superhero style musical sounds interesting and as it has songs linked to it already that’s even better. Plus I think the Book Thief could make a pretty interesting musical too. It would definitely break my heart though.
Thank you for what you said about me ❤️❤️
And I love your questions!! I think Hermione would make a pretty amazing villain as she’s so intelligent, can come up with fast plans and can already be kind of nasty when pushed too far (like Ron with the birds & the Sneak thing). And horses and carriages and balls would be amazing 😍😍 I love high tea and fancy parties in books and movies set in the past. I’m going to go and read part one now 😊

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Aw… Thank you so much!! It means a lot 😭❤

Haha she did have some fun questions to answer!! 😂 yay It is weird to say this but some great villains there!!
Cress was my favourite in TLC too. I loved the book and the characters!! Hermione is great!!

Yay I hope you love The Starless Sea when you get to it!!

      Thank you !!!!
From what I saw about the 100 book I think I would prefer the tv show as well. It does seem very different and with different characters too !!

Yay you should definitely read Darius, it is so good!!

More Jennifer Donnelly would be great and I hope you enjoy that series!!

I love the idea of books turning into musicals and I think that book would be great. You are right about the book thief being heart breaking but I would love to see it !!

      You’re welcome I meant it!! ❤

Thank you and yes Hermione would be a great villain, she has all the skills 😂 and those little clips shows she is willing to fight and be sneaky!!
I know I love the old fashioned balls 😍😍 Exactly fancy parties would be so cool!!
Aw.. Thank you for reading and commenting!! 💛

Well villains are amazing :L and fascinating and with loads of them together you never know what would happen!!

Yes I loved that one so much!!

        Thank you (:

I think I loved the TV versions of everyone too much!! They were all incredible. I really need to start watching it again sometime.

        Thank you, hopefully I will.

Yeah I think they’d make some pretty incredible musicals.

Yes exactly!! You wouldn’t want to cross her :L
Me too (: I think that’s part of what about historically set novels with supernatural elements – you get all the glitz and glamour of the balls and fancy parties but with vampires and fairies thrown into the mixt too :L

        1. Aw…. thank you so much !! ❤

I know I really am loving villains at the minute !! I wish we had more books on them !!

I know the characters were so real and flawed so I got attached really quickly. I can't imagine them being anything else !!

Yes I would love more musicals !!

          You definitely wouldn't, ahha !!
Umm.. yes those are an ah-mazing mix !! It makes it so atmospheric !! It is like opposites too which I liked !!

  13. Ahhh, I love your answers here so much again and characters you relate to, yes yes and YES! Cress is one of the book characters I found myself the most in, I love her so damn much. ❤ And wow, your fictional villain choices are really good…. though I'm not certain I'd invite the Commandant, I'm… terrified of her in the pages of a book already, can't imagine sitting across a dinner table from her hahahaha.
I'm also SO EXCITED AND IMPATIENT to read more from Adib Khorram, I love Darius with all my heart ❤

I know just reading about Cress was amazing because I could see myself. She was such a well written, realistic character !! I love her 😍
Haha I know the Commandant would be scary, she is very evil and cunning. I wouldn’t want to face her but I would be interested as well 😂
I know the more I think about Darius the Great, the more I love it so I can’t wait for more stories from him 💛

  14. Thank you so much for nominating me, Sophie! 💕 (and I’m sorry for taking this long to respond! 🙈)

I love Radio Silence but I have not read Darius The Great Is Not Okay yet! I’ve been trying to read it recently but I just haven’t taken the time yet, and I’m not sure if I’m ready to cry while reading it 😂 I’ve also started to listen to The Bright Sessions podcast so I could read The Infinite Noise, and I’m really enjoying the podcast so far! I really need to read the other books you mentioned 😅

I love your questions, and I’ll see if I can do the tag soon! Thanks again for thinking of me!
