Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Hey everyone!!

Happy blogmas and welcome to day 3!!!

Today I am doing a very suitable tag as it is to do with books and it is Christmas. I am finding out whether I’m on the naughty or nice list (eeekkk!!) I personally think I am going to be on the nice list as I don’t have too many bad habits with books but we’ll see…

Let’s get started!!!

RULES

  1. Tag & link the person who tagged you (I’ve seen this around and thought it would be fun to do, the post I got the idea from Lais so please check out her wonderful blog)
  2. Tag and link Jenn @ Jennily who created this amazing tag and had an amazing blog (and shop) which you should check out!!
  3. Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done
  4. Tag another 10 people!

RECEIVED AN ARC AND NOT REVIEWED IT

I’ve never received an arc so I’ve never had the opportunity to not review it.

HAVE LESS THAN 60% FEEDBACK RATING ON NETGALLEY

I’ve never set up a NetGalley account so I’m not even sure what a feedback rating is, is it if you review all the arcs you get or the response you receive back from your requests??? I have no idea.

RATED A BOOK ON GOODREADS AND PROMISED A FULL REVIEW WAS TO COME ON YOUR BLOG (AND NEVER DID)

I’ve promised reviews and I did post them so I kept my promise. I tend to not promise reviews that much but just write the review really late which might be worse but hey. This is kind of a cheat but it’s kept me on the nice list.

FOLDED DOWN THE PAGE OF A BOOK

No. I am one of those people who rage if there book has been bent. I like to keep my books in pristine condition, it is just a personal preference but for me it is a ‘no no no no no’. (did I say no too many times?)

ACCIDENTALLY SPILLED SOMETHING ON A BOOK

I try not to but I have done this unfortunately *cries about book* but it hasn’t actually been too bad. Sometimes it has been drops of water which isn’t bad at all but sometimes it is chocolate (it gets everywhere I tell you) so there might be little chocolate smudges on some pages.

DNF’ED A BOOK THIS YEAR

Nope, no DNF’s. It isn’t something I do that much but this year I haven’t had the desire to do it with many books anyway. The only time I thought about it was with some of the ‘I Am Number Four’ books earlier in the year but I preserved through the first books but in the end DNF’ed the series.

BOUGHT A BOOK PURELY BECAUSE IT WAS PRETTY WITH NO INTENTION OF READING IT

I buy books because I think they are pretty but I want to read it as well. I don’t have enough money to buy books only for the cover. I need the reading material. And a lot of covers I find pretty are ones I want to read so it works out well for me.

READ WHILST YOU WERE MEANT TO BE DOING SOMETHING ELSE (LIKE HOMEWORK)

Is there any other time to read?? I mean come on, of course I have read when I’ve meant to be doing something else. I am always meant to be doing something else. But I prioritise reading (or sometimes Twitter) over most other things so I am very smart really and naughty though.

SKIM READ A BOOK

No. If I am reading I have to read the whole thing, every word. It is just a personal preference, sometimes I wish I would as it would be quicker and you still get the whole story but don’t have to focus on every detail as you might not be loving it but I have this attitude where I have to do something 100% or not at all so I don’t skim read.

COMPLETELY MISSED YOUR GOODREADS GOAL

Oh yes, this was the first year I have ever actually completed it. To be fair I have only done it two times before so third times the charm but I have certainly missed the Goodreads goals, did I feel like a failure? Yes. But did I then increase it for the next year? Absolutely. Because logic!!

BORROWED A BOOK AND NOT RETURNED IT

No if I borrow something I will make sure I have returned it and in the same condition. I would hate to think of keeping it from someone but to be fair I don’t borrow books that much as I like to have my own physical copy.

BROKE A BOOK BUYING BAN

Yes, I had been on a book buying ban for 2 years as I wanted to get my physical TBR down but I did break it a couple of times as I fancied a certain book or a new release came out but it was only 2 or 3 books so don’t too bad but still I broke it. But what’s a girl to do? Not buy more books than she can handle? I don’t think so.

STARTED A REVIEW, LEFT IT FOR AGES THEN FORGOT WHAT THE BOOK WAS ABOUT

The only way I write reviews is by leaving it for ages (I procrastinate so much) so I write a few mini paragraphs then I come back to it and try and sort it out at a later date which can be quite an ineffective way to do it. I need some kind of magic to make me write reviews straight away, got any ideas???

WROTE IN A BOOK YOU WERE READING

Nope. I have never annotated a book. Again I am on the ‘my books must be pristine or I will die’ side of things so I have never done it. I have been tempted to try it once to see what it is like but I think I would be worried about making mistakes and I’m not sure how it would go. Or if I would even like it but maybe one day!!

FINISHED A BOOK AND NOT ADDED IT TO YOUR GOODREADS

I always make sure I’ve added it on Goodreads, it is so satisfying to do after you’ve read it like yes I have accomplished something in my life. It’s a very exciting time!!

Ok so that is everything and the verdict is I’m……

I thought I would be nice to be honest. I’m like Amy Santiago, I like the rules and doing the right thing in my heart.

Do you think you would be on the naughty or nice list? What is a ‘bad’ book habit that you have? Do you write in your books?

    1. Haha Thank you, I didn’t think I was too bad either!! But I think some classed as naughty could still be good like annotating in books could be a nice thing still!!
Haha yes it is tempting, time moves on and the book review still isn’t written!! 😂
I definitely channel some Amy Santiago in my life!! Haha! 😂

  1. Ahahahh this is so funny!! I WISH I broke my non-existent book buying ban… but my parents buy everything (I mean, I’m still in school lol) so the last book I bought was LAST November haha. It sucks 😦 but I guess it’ll have to do!
I’m also one of those suckers for keeping my (very few) books perfect, but I have written in books because in my English class we had to annotate a book! (it sucked. and I got my grade today 100 PERCENT I’M SO HAPPY) You are such a ‘nice’ person on the ‘naughty or nice’ list! I might fall more into ‘naughty’ 😉 but I don’t know! It could definitely be even! ❤

    1. Haha!! I’m so glad you liked this tag!! I thought it was so fun to do!!
Oh yes it is horrible when you can’t buy books all the time but one day you will be able to have a spree. I always like to save up Christmas/birthday money and buy loads!! Last November is a long time though!!
Yes I love to keep my books in pristine conditions!! Oh yes that must have been painful to do in English!! But WELL DONE on your English result, that’s so amazing!! ❤
Haha I have fallen on the nice side 😂!! Ohh.. well the naughty side looks like good fun 😉

  2. LOVE this tag. I’m 100% naughty when it comes to folding down pages and writing in books lol but I don’t think it’s naughty. I love filling my books with my thoughts as I’m writing. :)))

    1. It was a really fun tag to do and so creative!!
Haha you’ve got to indulge the naughty side 😂 but no I thought some of these traits weren’t naughty as it is your book and your choice!! I think it is great that you love writing in books. I’m tempted to try it one time as I once wrote detailed notes in a notebook about what I was reading and it made me appreciate the book more and probably fall in love with it more!! 🙂

  3. You’re definitely nice! I recall doing this tag a long time ago and I believe I was borderline Nice/Naughty haha! I definitely have a terrible habit of saying “RTC!” and never doing it – you’re great, the way you manage to keep up! I either review immediately after or never – no inbetween lol

    1. Haha yes which was what I was expecting in the end tbh!!
Ahh.. that’s cool and sometimes you have to have that naughty side!! 😂 Haha I understand that because sometimes I forget I need to write a review!! I think it helps that I don’t always read that much!! 😂 But thank you!! ❤

  4. I low-key wish I was the kind of person who could annotate books, but I’m really lazy and never have pencils around when I want them. That kind of lifestyle is not for me. Incidentally, have you ever looked up articles about medieval annotated books? I remember reading about one where the scribe wrote about how angry he was because his cat peed in his book XD And apparently there is one medieval book with inky kitty pawprints in it. Apparently cats were wrecking all our possessions even back then.

I let reviews sit for AGES too. When I write them at all. Fortunately I have a long memory when it comes to books. 😉

    1. Yes I understand that and sometimes I would love to do as I think it would enhance your love of the book and make that copy yours and special!! Haha but I definitely relate to being too lazy !!
No I have never seen an article about medieval annotated books but that all sounds amazing so I will have to do it ASAP!! Haha cats have always been cats then!! 😂😂

Having a good memory for books is great!! I need to write them pretty quick or else I won’t remember ahah!! 😂 But sometimes it still takes me a while to do them!! 😂

  5. I’m 100% with you a out writing in books and folding down pages; I can’t do either. Plus I can’t skim read. I’ve never been able to and can’t really wrap my head around the idea of doing so 😂I think a lot of our answers are probably similar tbh

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Haha I love that we are similar. I know I don’t think I could write in a book at all!! And I always have lots of bookmarks so I have no need to fold down pages so I can save my books 😂
No I like to take in every word instead of skim reading too 😂
